I have countless hours of tutoring experience that have accumulated in the past three years. I specialize in, but definitely not limited to math and science subjects. I also specialize in test prep, for instance the SAT/ACT for high school students and GED for adults. I was SAT/ACT exempt when applying to college due to my outstanding test scores. And I graduated in the top 3% of my high school class, ensuring automatic acceptance into all Texas state schools.

Hobbies

I am an alumni of the University of Texas at Austin, providing a strong background in math and science. I graduated in the top 3% of my high school class, ensuring automatic acceptance into state schools. I have experience tutoring students from age 12 to adults in college. These subjects range from the core classes of math, science, English, and social studies to higher level courses. I have experience tutoring AP courses for high school level students as well as SAT/ACT prep for juniors and seniors. I am very open-minded and creative when it comes to catering to the learning needs or preference of each student. We all learn concepts and grasp material in a different way, so my tutoring methods are unique to the individual. I am the oldest in my family, so I have a great deal of patience with my students. I believe that a balance of strict guidelines in terms of what is expected from a student on their end in addition to praise is important. I create a sense of easiness with the students so that they feel comfortable to ask me questions without the fear of judgment on my end. Furthermore, I like to keep a very open line of communication between myself, the parents, and the students so that we are all keeping track of progress, making sure we are on the same page. Might I add that a 20-point jump in grades is pretty impressive! From failing to a solid B given the amount of time, perhaps less than a month! These improvements are not impossible and maintaining such grades are definitely attainable!
